A guided walk with the Wren Group to look for wildflowers, bees and other insects in the peaceful Quaker House burial ground
The Wren Group and bee expert Tony Madgwick will guide us as we search for wildflowers, bees and other insects in the beautiful burial ground. Aside from the ubiquitous honeybee, there are over 275 species of bee to be found across the UK. Ranging in size (wing length) from 4 mm to 22 mm, a number of these can be found in London’s gardens, built areas and green spaces. Often overlooked, we will be looking to find some of the more common local species and learning about their behaviour, their importance as pollinators, and what we can do encourage them to thrive in our urban environments.
We will be accompanied by local artist Jo Wood. Jo will bring some art materials and encourage us to draw what we see. This event is suitable for families and is free. All children must be accompanied.
